We believe in a more sustainable future, we’re designing and producing collections in a more responsible manner

We’re continuously working on every level to guarantee our products have the minimum environmental and social impact. We’re getting our suppliers involved to develop a production chain that respects the environment in all processes.

We are committed to a planet-friendly future Information about Join Life

We use sustainable raw materials to create the Join Life collection, reducing the environmental impact of all its processes.

What is ecologically-grown cotton?

The farming methods used to produce ecologically-grown cotton care for the environment, the biodiversity of its surroundings and the people who farm it. Ecologically-grown cotton is produced with natural fertilisers and pesticides, and its seeds are non-GMO.

TENCEL® lyocell

A fibre originating from wood grown in sustainably-managed forests, where trees are harvested under strict conditions and whose programmes guarantee reforestation.

Likewise, fibre production is carried out in a closed-circuit system that enables 100% of the water and 95% of the chemicals to be re-used.

Recycled Fabrics

The production processes of recycled fabrics and fibres use less water and energy, fewer natural resources and produce less waste, meaning they have a lower environmental impact. When recycled fabrics can have the same quality as a new fabric, we call this “upcycling”.

REFIBRA™ Lyocell

REFIBRA™ Lyocell is a fibre made from recycled cotton and wood sourced from sustainably-managed forests.

We work with the company Lenzing to develop this new material: We have created a circular system that allows us to hand over our textile scraps, which they turn into new fibre.

REFIBRA™ Lyocell converts scraps into a usable resource; it is produced using the same process as TENCEL® Lyocell, following the most stringent environmental standards while maintaining its natural and original state.

Recycled polyester

Recycled polyester is produced with recycled plastic bottles. Using this source, we reduce the plastic waste by giving it a new life.

Conventional recycled textile

In conventional recycling, textile scraps are ground up and mixed with pure fibres in order to create new fabrics.

Garments made of cotton and wool can be easily recycled and we are working, in collaboration with Cáritas, the Red Cross and MIT, on development projects that will allow us to recycle more types of fabrics in the future.

Recycled polyamide

Recycled polyamide is made using old fishing nets, carpets and other production scraps. This process allows us to give a new life to these waste products, saving natural resources and reducing rubbish.

The Responsible Down Standard (RDS) for the responsible use of down feathers guarantees that down and feathers have come from ethically-treated ducks and geese. The standard also follows the chain of custody from the farm to the finished product, meaning consumers can be certain that the product’s down or feathers comply with the RDS.

Our aim is for our products to become increasingly more sustainable

We’re committed to reducing water consumption and using it responsibly

We’re reducing water consumption in all production processes with technologies that allow us to conserve freshwater resources and use it more responsibly.

We’re committed to Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC), with the goal of guaranteeing zero waste with chemical products that don’t comply with our environmental standards in the manufacture of our products.

Our aim is for our products to become increasingly more sustainable

Efficient management helps us to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

Our processes allow us to reduce emissions and/or the use of chemical products in manufacturing processes.

We use technologies such as renewable energy consumption so that our collections are produced as sustainably as possible. As part of our commitment to the environment, we are part of the Fashion Pact. Signed during the G7 meetings in Biarritz. The Fashion Pact is a textile and fashion industry initiative which promotes environmental sustainability in the industry based on the Science-Based Targets (SBT) for climate, biodiversity and oceans.

We’re continuously working on every level to guarantee a minimum environmental impact

We want our clothes to care equally for those who wear them, those who make them and the planet on which they were created.

We’ve developed a programme of traceability that allows us to know where and how our apparel has been produced.

To guarantee there is care and respect for workers’ conditions, our product safety levels and production standards at every stage of our chain of production, we’re implementing a programme that lets us know how and where all our clothes have been cut, dyed, washed and created.

Thanks to this traceability programme and continuous collaboration with our providers, we’re working to guarantee that we only collaborate with suppliers who comply with our code of conduct.

Supply chain traceability

The majority of our stores (98%) are energy efficient.

We’ve developed an energy efficiency store manual which defines the standards for design, construction and management of our stores to reduce their water and energy consumption.

We’re working with the US Green Building Council to ensure our stores reach maximum levels of energy-efficiency. The US Green Building Council is an ONG that promotes sustainability in the design, construction and functioning of buildings.

We’ve implemented packaging optimisation programmes which avoid the use of 11 million plastic hangers and represent a saving of 153,000 kilos of plastic annually.

Bring any unwanted clothes to our stores and drop them in the collection containers.

We currently have this service in selected stores and we’re continuously working so that you’ll soon be able to drop off your clothes for us to recycle in any of our stores worldwide.

All clothes collected through our network of stores in Spain are donated directly to Cáritas where they are separated and classified so each of the garments can reach the most suitable destination.

We Reuse and Recycle

We’re lengthening the useful life of our boxes, bags, hangers and alarms by reusing them until it’s time to recycle them so the volume of waste is reduced.
